[2024-11] Alana (Host)

Hi, I'm Alana and this is my first time doing a homestay with a Korean student.

The experience was good and some difficulties because whenever you bring in someone it's different culture and you have to experience that. My kids have all loved this experience and have enjoyed our student. They're cuddling right now on the couch so you can't see it. So it's been good as a home stay mom. I would call her I'm your mom right now and I have a big heart and so I just I think this program, you have to also see it as a ministry and speaking into someone's life and they are teenage kids with struggles and to walk life through them. And maybe that's my passion. And so with that, there's difficulties, but there's also reward. You're planting seeds into who they are.

There is different culture differences and it's good to understand those culture differences and be able to work with them. So God has also worked on me and my own fault. And knowing how to walk through this and walk with someone, the whole experience in itself was good.

And we might do it again.

The CHH was very good to work with. If we ever had an issue, they would just be there and help the student and help us and help understand each other.

So overall the experience was good and we enjoyed the overall experience.
