Q: How were the past 12 weeks? What was your most memorable moment?
A: It was good. It was fun. Banff! First, seeing Lake Louise, and there was a line on the lake where we ran and went sliding down. That was really fun. I also played ice hockey with my host dad's family, bought a lot of souvenirs, and having spaghetti for dinner. Those are memorable moments.
Q: How was your experience with your homestay family?
A: It was good because playing together all the time was fun. Host mom and dad were both really kind to me, which was great, and my host dad was really funny, so that was nice.
Q: Do you think your English has improved?
A: Well, my listening has improved a lot. Speaking too. When I first started with the tutor, it was a bit difficult, but later it got easier, so that was good. Having conversations with people in English helped a lot.
Q: How was your experience at church?
A: After worship, we split into groups—Youth goes with Youth group, and the kids go with kids group to have separate services. And the group time was less boring, which was good.
Q: Any final words?
A: Well, first, you can become more independent. You will do your own laundry. And your English will improve. Just think of it as going on a trip. You only need to know the basics. If you know basic English, you can have conversations, so don't worry too much and just come. When I meet foreigners now, I feel like I can speak with confidence.
