The Canada Homeschool Homestay program became a truly valuable experience for life.
The first two weeks of adjusting to life in Canada were really tough, but once I got used to it, I had an incredibly enriching and enjoyable experience, seeing, hearing, and learning so many new things.
I was especially lucky to be placed with a host family that suited me well, which helped me adapt more quickly and improve my English.
I became particularly close with the second child in the family since we shared similar hobbies and interests.
Both of us were passionate about art, so whenever we had free time, we would draw pictures for each other and have fun.
Even now, after returning to Korea, we still keep in touch, check in on each other, and exchange photos.
Beyond that, I had so many memorable experiences, including a special opportunity to travel to Mexico with my host family.
That trip allowed me to grow even closer to the Butlin family, as well as our downstairs neighbors, Curlin and Audrey.
I am truly grateful to the Butlin family, the coordinators, and my parents for making this amazing experience possible.
Looking back, I’m really glad I decided to participate in this homestay program.
I visited during winter, and while I loved the beautiful snowy landscapes and all the wildlife I saw, if given the chance, I would love to go back again in the summer!
